Management Consultant (Infrastructure)

Beam Reach Consulting Group seeks a management consultant with experience in infrastructure resilience and/or security, renewable energy, climate change, and social equity to support client projects related to U.S. energy, transportation, security, and other infrastructure. Candidates will bring expertise in R&D and advanced infrastructure programs, energy grid technologies and operations, generation, transmission & distribution, telecommunications, physical and cybersecurity, project management, change management, and organizational strategy support of clients in government and industry.

Position: Management Consultant (Infrastructure)

  • Location: Washington, DC metro area. Flexible office location opportunity. Reliable internet connectivity required to work remotely and join virtual meetings. Some domestic travel may be needed for short (2-3 day) meetings.

  • Education: Advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) in business, engineering, or security.

  • Experience: 15+ years in similar consulting roles, or direct practice in industry or government.

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of R&D and advanced infrastructure programs

  • Knowledge of strategic planning, project leadership, team leadership, and communication best practices

  • Knowledge of security policies and best practices, including cybersecurity

  • Ability to apply thoughtful and convincing qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Mastery of current software tools for business and problem analysis (e.g., MS Office Suite, Project, Visio, GSuite, Python, Tableau, Matlab, Minitab)

  • Independent research and analysis on best methods for research, analysis, RD&D, security, public-private partnerships, organizational change, strategy, and leadership in critical infrastructure domains.

  • Facilitate discussions on complex technical topics with subject matter experts. Form analysis and recommendations based on meeting outcomes.

  • Attend and actively participate in client meetings and discussions.

  • Lead initiatives to develop organizational strategies, program innovations, government and private sector interfaces, and policy development and adoption.
